I also found a 2014 Audi A4 premium plus quattro with 60k miles for about the same price. That's half the original price for a less than 2 year old luxury car. Carfax shows clean title with no accidents, one owner, and all regular maintenance performed at Audi dealer. The Audi is for sale at a VW dealer 200 miles away.

It's important to distinguish the various AWD systems. VW/Audi has two: 4Motion and Quattro, and they are different. 4Motion controls how power is distributed electronically, like auto tranny Soobs. Quattro uses a Torsen Differential, with a LSD front and rear. Oddly, the Audi TT uses VW's system. Auto Soobs work like 4Motion.

I have the 2002 Accord Coupe, 2002 Civic and the 2001 Civic and I would not buy another Accord. The Civic is a great car.

The TDI Passat seems great but if the VW dealers are going to have an attitude about it then they can go ***** themselves. Now I need to find an alternative in the same price range...low 30s. I'm not keen on getting another Accord and there's nothing like the TDI Passat out there. I guess the VW dealers figure they hold all of the cards now.

bottom line that i found was you cant beat the deal, or quality of the accord. you may not get the driving crispness of the vw, or similar a4, but the accord is competent. the real difference was in interior styling (ie german vs japenese/american) and price. vw and audi not willing to bargain, while honda's for invoice.

had a 2012 passat and now have a 2015 passat. Have driven the accord as well. Passat seems to me to be more solid than the accord. I also like the simpler layout of the dash compard to the accord with its multiplt screens. Have had no issues with either passat. Mine is a lease and the dealership included the maintenance at 10K, 20K, 30k.
