Nov 8, 2024 · In his luncheon keynote on generative AI for multimodal biomedicine, Allen School professor Sheng Wang shared his recent work towards building foundation models that bring together medical imaging data from multiple sources — such as pathology, X-ray and ultrasound — to assist doctors with diagnosing and treating disease.

Generative AI refers to a kind of artifical intelligence software that is capable of getting information in response to prompts. The software is trained on source data, and uses that training data as input to a sophisticated model that predicts the appropriate response to the prompt.
