Texas Legal Services Center empowers underserved Texans through legal education, advocacy, and representation. We help income-eligible Texans access healthcare, safety, stability, housing, government benefits, and employment. All TLSC services are free.
Founded in 1981, Texas Legal Services Center is a nonprofit organization that provides legal advice, advocacy, representation, and education to underserved people across the state. With more than a dozen practice areas, our work touches almost every aspect of civil law that impacts low-income Texans.

Speak with an experienced child welfare attorney about Child Protective Services (CPS) issues in Texas. We provide callers with reliable legal information and education — over the phone and in an anonymous setting. Anyone may call the Family Helpline, not just the parents of children involved with Child Protective Services.
You must be 60 or older residing in Texas to receive advice on estate planning or consumer issues. All callers may receive advice on Medicaid, Medicare, and long-term care.
For qualified individuals in Texas rural counties, TLSC can assist with information and advice regarding rent and eviction relief. We also can help tenants complete the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) Texas Rent Relief Program application.
