THIS DAY IN HISTORY: MOINA MICHAEL. August 15, 1869, 150 years ago today, Moina Bell Michael was born in Good Hope, Georgia. To date, her veterans' poppy program has raised over 2 billion dollars for veterans. A daughter of Walton of whom we can be very proud. We have an extensive exhibit on Moina Michael at the Monroe Museum as well as extensive research materials in our archives.
