Doing this now is good because when the waxin#nzgardeners g phase of the Moon begins plant growth gets more vigorous due to increasing rate of sap flow. Causing lateral shoots to grow quickly and make the plant more bushy which I don't want. At this time of the season having more branches just consumes valuable moisture & nutrients that I prefer to be used on tomato
