Why do I love the medium of soft pastels? Well, I fell in love with them years ago when my life was really busy and I didn’t have too much time to paint. They were so user-friendly and they didn’t dry up like oil or acrylics. I also love how I get to hold these luscious sticks of color in my hand when I paint. I feel much like a sculptor as I create! It still seems like little is known about the benefits of this medium and how so many of the old masters used soft pastels with brilliant results.
